Connect Group has completed a strategic capability expansion at its Suzhou facility in China, introducing four advanced manufacturing technologies that strengthen the company's position as a technology-driven partner for complex electronics in Asia.

The investment brings full-nitrogen selective wave soldering, automated dry ice cleaning, high-precision press-fit assembly, and flying probe test technology to Connect Group China Suzhou (CGCS), establishing the site as a regional hub for advanced PCBA manufacturing while maintaining the unified quality standards that define Connect Group globally.

"This expansion is about much more than equipment—it's about bringing world-class manufacturing capabilities directly to our customers in China and across Asia," Ricon Qin, General Manager at Connect Group Asia.

"We're eliminating traditional barriers of distance and lead time, while ensuring every process meets the same rigorous CG standards our customers rely on worldwide."

A Strategic Response to Evolving Market Demands

The new capabilities address growing requirements from automotive suppliers, industrial electronics manufacturers, and precision instrumentation companies operating in Asia, where demand for local, high-quality manufacturing continues to accelerate.

By establishing these processes at its Suzhou site, Connect Group enables customers to reduce supply chain complexity, accelerate time-to-market, and strengthen operational resilience—without compromising on the quality or traceability standards required for critical applications.

This investment reflects Connect Group's local-for-local manufacturing philosophy: expanding regional capabilities that deliver global-standard execution.

Four New Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities

  • Full-Nitrogen Selective Wave Soldering. The facility now offers dual-side through-hole technology (THT) assembly using selective wave soldering system—recognised as a superior alternative to robotic soldering for complex, high-reliability applications.
  • Automated Dry Ice Cleaning. CGCS introduces environmentally responsible, zero-contamination cleaning for assemblies requiring the highest levels of cleanliness—particularly critical for automotive Tier 1 and precision sensor applications.
  • High-Precision Press-Fit Assembly. The press-fit capability delivers real-time quality monitoring and full traceability for connector and pin insertion—essential for automotive-grade quality assurance.
  • Flying Probe Test Technology. Scheduled for implementation in Q1 2026, the flying probe test system will provide fast, flexible testing capabilities for prototype and low-to-medium volume production runs—without the need for custom test fixtures.

This technology delivers:

  • Rapid test development and deployment for new product introductions.
  • Flexible testing that adapts to design changes without fixture rework.
  • Cost-effective validation for complex assemblies.
  • Faster feedback during product development cycles, reducing time-to-market.

Benefits for Connect Group Customers

This capability expansion delivers measurable advantages to customers manufacturing electronics in China and across the Asia-Pacific region:

  • Reduced lead times through regional manufacturing.
  • Enhanced supply chain flexibility, with the ability to scale production locally while maintaining seamless integration with Connect Group's global manufacturing network.
  • Consistent quality standards, ensuring Suzhou site operates under the same rigorous protocols and certifications applied across all Connect Group facilities worldwide.
  • Improved cost structures by reducing logistics complexity and enabling more agile responses to changing production requirements.

The investment also strengthens total traceability and process control—critical factors for customers in automotive, medical, and other regulated industries.

Aligned with Global Connect Group Standards

The new capabilities at Connect Group China Suzhou complement the facility's existing technology suite.

By expanding the range of processes available locally, Connect Group ensures that customers benefit from unified manufacturing standards, consistent process capabilities, and predictable quality across continents.

Strategic Impact on Asia-Pacific Manufacturing

This expansion positions CGCS as a comprehensive electronics manufacturing partner capable of supporting increasingly complex product requirements—from initial prototyping through high-volume production.

For companies with Asia-based supply chains, the investment delivers greater operational control, reduced risk exposure, and faster response times—all while maintaining the technical expertise and quality assurance that Connect Group provides globally.

The addition of these capabilities also reflects broader industry trends toward regionalised, resilient supply chains that balance efficiency with stability.

Looking Ahead

As 2026 progresses, Connect Group remains focused on delivering technology-driven manufacturing solutions that meet customers where they need support—geographically, technically, and operationally.

The capability expansion at CGCS strengthens the company's ability to serve

Industry, Infrastructure, Automotive, Healthcare and high-reliability electronics customers with the same commitment to innovation, quality, and partnership that defines Connect Group worldwide.

With these capabilities operational, Connect Group China Suzhou is ready to support the next generation of advanced electronics manufacturing in China and across Asia, combining local execution with global excellence.
